Dr. Ball came in with the ultrasound machine so we knew it was time to hold our breath. We got to see both girls and their little hearts beating.
Ellen’s (recipient twin) bladder looked normal this morning. Before the surgery, her bladder was enlarged from all of the work she was doing.
As for Elizabeth (donor twin) we got to see her bladder. It was very small, but it is good to see. Before surgery we could not see anything.
Dr has said we would not see dramatic changes but the fact that they are still alive is significant. It will take some time for noticeable improvement.
We are still day to day and the doctor said today that we should probably count on them being born in Salt Lake City.
Dr. is going to give steroids today to help speed up the girls’ growth. He is expecting them to be born very premature. They have 8 days at least before they are “viable”. We are hoping for weeks and weeks……
Stacy is feeling pretty nauseated from all of the antibiotics and other meds she is on to stop the contractions.
She is also pretty scared and overwhelmed today. She has been very strong and faithful up to this point, but struggling a little bit today.
Please keep Stacy in your thoughts and prayers today as well as the Marys.
We love you all so much and feel very blessed to have your support.
