Tuesday April 15th 11:00 am

Much better start to the day!  Stacy has her color back and is feeling better.  Her spirits are up and she is finally eating.

Dr. Ball did his early morning visit, but did not bring in the ultrasound machine.  We will have to wait til this afternoon for that.

Today is a big day.  They are going to take Stacy off of the medicine that slows/stops contractions.  If there is an infection, one of the ways her body would tell us, is labor.  Taking her off of the meds might allow labor to begin and we do not want that to happen any time soon.  We also can not put Stacy in any more danger so if labor is going to happen, we sort of need to let that happen for her safety.   Clear as mud right?

We have to hope that the antibiotics are working, her uterus is resting, The Mary’s are growing, and no more transfusing.  We believe!

Thank you for the prayers and support yesterday for Stacy.  We are sure they helped!  All of the doctors and nurses have even commented on her color.  There is a noticeable difference!  Dr. Ball said that yesterday was a big day and we are just happy to be where we are today.  We are still day to day.

God Bless!

  1. Bo and Stacy,

Greg and I attended All School Mass this morning and saw your beautiful children. Rebekka was sitting next to Megan and they both had their “8th grader” smiles on their faces!
The sun is shining very brightly here in Overland Park today and I’m just certain that it is a sign from God letting us know that he is shining down on your family…I hope that you can feel the warmth of his love for you!
Thank you for the daily blog upates…
The Flax family is in “high prayer mode” as is your Ascension family (and what a great family they are)!

“If he leads you to it, he’ll see you through it.”

    God Bless!
Greg, Karla, Rebekka, Abbie, Sarah and Zach

  2. Your update affirms our need to keep praying and praying and praying. We will continue as we know how powerful prayer can be…now we have to just do it! JD

  3. Bo and Stacy, Just got updated on all that was happening and I’m getting ready to say the rosary right now! Never underestimate the power of prayer. Hang in there and try to keep your spirits up. I’m sure it is hard just being away from the kids. We are more than happy to help in any way we can. Mark and Gina

  4. Dear Bo and Stacy,

Thank you for the wonderful updates on this blog at a time that we all know is so very diffiuclt for you. The updates allow us to really keep focused on the specific needs of the day for you, Stacy and the girls. It was good to hear that Stacy is doing better today which hopefully means if Mom is doing better -hopefully the babies are doing better. I will be having a Cancer Support Group meeting tonight at the Church and just wanted you to know that our Speaker has a Rosary with a relic of Padre Pio in it. We will lift up prayers for all of you tonight when reciting the Rosary and asking for Padre Pio’s intervention. Please be comforted with all the many, many prayers going out for you right now. May God be with you and Mary hold each of you tenderly and lovingly under her protective mantle. Terri, Terry, Alexis & Ross

  5. Stacy & Bo –

  6. Bo and Stacy,

I was shocked to hear what you were going through. I am so sorry to hear about all of it. I have only seen Bo once this year and I had no idea anything was wrong. I just read thru your blog and it seems at this point things are going a bit better. I am happy to hear that Stacy is looking better and color has returned. This is a positive sign. My thoughts & prayers will be with you. I hope and pray that all is well soon for all of you.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you. I would like to help in anyway I can.

  9. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed are you..

  10. Bo and Stacy – we’re so glad the day started out well. We are praying that things keep improving and the ultrasound was positive. The Barrs.

  11. Glad to hear Tueaday was a better day. Glad to hear the family is coming to see you guys. We miss you and are praying a ton for you, your family and the support staff. Talk soon.

  12. Bo & Stacy,
We are loving this website. It makes us feel as if you are not so far away! You have been the topic of all our prayers here at the Hicks’ house. We miss you guys… But glad you are where the best care is. Nicky told me yesterday that he was having soup and sandwiches for dinner so it sounds like grandma has that covered. And we asked Megan to come over after school yesterday, but grandpa was taking her driving (bet you are glad to miss that one!) I know you miss the kids terribly, but it does seem that they are getting spoiled by the grandparents so no worries there.
After reading your blog today, Stacy I know God is smiling down on you and is so proud of you! What a witness you both have become of his loving care.
    We love you guys!
    Carrie
